Bears 4 Kids Awards Grant To The Jewish Academy
To Encourage Community Service

Bears 4 Kids encourages school families to cheer up
hospitalized children and the elderly with gifts of therapeutic teddy bears

Bears 4 Kids has awarded a grant to The Jewish Academy of Long Island to encourage school families to visit and distribute special therapeutic Teddy Bears to children that are ill and also to the elderly in its community. The goal of this community service project is to expose students to the Jewish mitzvah of Bikur Cholim - visiting the ill. The reward of cheering up a child or elderly person is one of the many positive practices the Jewish Academy hopes its students will experience as they participate in this project. For each Teddy Bear that is distributed, the Jewish Academy will receive a a very generous donation from Bears 4 Kids.
