Bears 4 Kids is proud to be working with The School for Language and Communication Development. SLCD identifies children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Language is a symbol system; it provides the means to reach out to the world. It is the most important skill that a child must learn early in life. Language provides the foundation for socializing, reading, questioning, writing and thinking.

Bears 4 Kids has selected SLCD to participate in their Empowerment Program whose primary focus is teaching children “acts of goodness”. The mechanism for giving is that each child involved in the program gives away a teddy bear and also receives one for themselves. Throughout the program, SLCD will receive a monetary grant from Bears 4 Kids.
