Joseph B. Sprung, President and Founder of "Bears 4 Kids", visited with sick children and distributed over 1,000 teddy bears in the following Israeli hospitals:
Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel (Petah Tikvah)
Geha Mental Health Center (Petah Tikvah)
Shaare Zedek (Jerusalem)
Beit Lowenstein Rehabilitation Center (Raanana)
Meir Medical Center (Kfar Sabba)
Ha'Emek Hospital (Afula)
Hadassah Ein Keren (Jerusalem)
Receiving the teddy bears raised the spirits of these youngsters who were eagerly awaiting the arrival of the "Bears 4 Kids" team!
A special thanks to Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel for arranging all the hospital visits and to Toys R Us
for generously discounting the bears for this charitable purpose.
SCHNEIDER CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER OF ISRAEL
the only tertiary care hospital in the middle east
specializing in the care of infants, children and adolescents.
It consists of 7 floors, 250 beds and state-of-the-art care in all specialties.
The children are in an environment geared to their special needs,
"with a friendly and happy atmosphere".
Sprung is “a passionate supporter of the State of Israel….his visit of solidarity to Israel underscores his commitment to his brethren here…” (Beitar City, July 18, 2003). “[Sprung] expressed a long felt desire to provide some joy and comfort to Israeli children in these difficult times…” (The Jerusalem Post, July 14, 2003). The mayor of Beitar also joined Sprung at one of the hospitals in Jerusalem. "I wanted to do something for the kids and show Israel support in its time of need.", said Sprung. Bears 4 Kids is a non profit organization. It was founded in 2002 with the purpose of giving teddy bears to sick children. The bears provide comfort to children recuperating from illnesses. Toys R Us has generously discounted the bears for this charitable purpose.
Joseph B. Sprung, creator of Bears 4 Kids is also a CPA, financial advisor and philanthropist. No newcomer to charities, Sprung has organized events such as Children for Chernobyl, Chai Lifeline and Camp Simcha.
