Bears 4 Kids is coordinating with a children's hospital in Frankfurt, Germany for a visit later this year. Details to follow.


The School For Language and Communication Development
to Benefit from BEARS 4 KIDS Empowerment Program

Bears 4 Kids is proud to be implementing its Empowerment Program at The School for Language and Communication Development. The children will be distributing Teddy Bears to charitable institutions in the USA and abroad. SLCD identifies children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Language is a symbol system; it provides the means to reach out to the world. It is the most important skill that a child must learn early in life. Language provides the foundation for socializing, reading, questioning, writing and thinking.



Westbury Friends School
to Benefit from BEARS 4 KIDS Empowerment Program

As part of its Empowerment Program, Bears 4 Kids has awarded a grant to the Westbury Friends School to encourage students and their families to visit and distribute Teddy Bears to children that are ill and also to the elderly in its community. Cheering up an ill child or elderly person is one of the many positive practices the Westbury Friends School hopes its students will experience as they participate in this community service project starting in January 2009.


The Hampton Synagogue Hebrew School
to Benefit from BEARS 4 KIDS Empowerment Program

Under the Bears 4 Kids newly instituted Empowerment Program, starting in January 2009 a generous grant was awarded to the Hampton Synagogue Hebrew School to encourage students and their families to visit and distribute Teddy Bears to children that are ill and also to the elderly in its community. The Empowerment Program is a Mitzvah Project that will enable children of the Hampton Synagogue Hebrew School to put chesed and tzedakah into practice, making them feel good about themselves and the wonderful things they are doing for those in need.


The Jewish Academy to Benefit from BEARS 4 KIDS Empowerment Program

Due to the great success of last year's program, Bears 4 Kids once again will be awarding a grant to The Jewish Academy to encourage school families to visit and distribute special therapeutic Teddy Bears to children that are ill and also to the elderly in its community. The goal of this community service project is to expose students to the Jewish mitzvah of Bikur Cholim - visiting the ill. The reward of cheering up a child or elderly person is one of the many positive practices the Jewish Academy hopes its students will experience as they participate in this project.
